I just get more pissed that immoral behavior like this gets swept under the figurative rug by my profession, who seems to believe this inane attitude that psychiatry is owed, since it gave in to managed care draconian intrusions, that making a profit in collusion with medication management is acceptable and appropriate.

Well, sorry to say this so harshly, but my colleagues who agree with this behavior can all go to hell. Schatzberg is to be APA president in May 09? Any and all who are still members at that point will get what they deserve.
Corrupt leadership leading corrupted lackies.

You go to sites like Furious Seasons, who many of the commenters are blasting psychiatry for irresponsible and clueless treatment interventions, and stories like this one that end up undisciplined just fuel the fire of hate and distrust for these individuals, many who RIGHTLY so can't wait for psychiatry to die.

Well, if this story ends up with a smile on Scahtzberg's face, anyone in psychiatry deserves to be screwed who doesn't vehemently speak out now.

How my profession has sold out, I could never summarize in even a day.

submitted by a board certified psychiatrist in the Mid Atlantic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
