Going to the Dogs

One blogger (Pharmalyst) has estimated that Lilly's new doggie Prozac could bring in $270 million annually in US sales. Sounds over the top, but maybe it could happen. I looked for the clinical trials, because I really want to know how one measures canine depression, but I couldn't find any information.

More likely dogs would receive it for the canine version of OCD (acral lick syndrome, etc.), not "depression".

I predict that in 3 to 4 years, Vet Prozac will be HUGE! Although it will be relabeled, remoleculed and anxious and depressed OWNERS will flock to give it to their poor puppies and kitties that have to spend ALL DAY LOCKED in tiny apartments or in crates.

Cheers!

You got it all wrong. This Prozac is for the wives of Lilly execs.
